The NAHB Reserach Center is committed to a nationwide delivery of a legitimate, flexible, and affordable green certification program for all residential construction and development.
1. NAHB Research Center National Green Building Certification is based on the National Green Building Standard (ICC 700-2008), the only green building rating system to be approved as a consensus standard by the American National standards Institute (ANSI).
2. Certification is based on independent, third-party verification that every project complies with the Standard’s rigorous performance levels.
3.The Standard is the only rating system to be applicable to all residential projects, including single-family, multi-unit, additions, renovation, and development. As a result, the entire residential construction industry can participate in the program.
4.Expansive point-based system is flexible and affordable regardless of housing price, type, or location.
5. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the program is strengthened by an expansive national network of industry advocates represented by Partner HBAs and members.
